In Rochester, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across New York do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 4β10 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had their Mahi Mahi over risotto special, the sauce of the risotto was fenomenal! I also liked their fried calamari (both the veggies and the calamari were on point).

We visited Pasta Villa to celebrate my girlfriendβs graduation, and it was the perfect choice for such a special occasion. My girlfriend and I have been here many times in the past, so we knew the quality would be high, but they really outdid themselves for this celebration with her family. The atmosphere is consistently family friendly and welcoming. As for the food, I had the Chicken Parm, and it was excellent! It was perfectly prepared and flavorful. What really made the evening stand out was the service. The staff was amazing and incredibly respectful, handling our group with genuine care and ensuring the graduate felt special. Whether itβs a casual date night or a big milestone, Pasta Villa never misses. Weβll definitely return for another positive experience in the future!

I hosted my bridal shower at Pasta Villa in Summer 2025, and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! I've been eating at Pasta Villa my whole life, and itβs hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants in Rochester, so choosing it for my shower felt like the most natural decision. Shauna was incredible to work with - responsive, fun, and so accommodating. I got to customize the menu (which was a hit), and they let us decorate the private space with signage and games. They even took care of table linens, which made planning so much easier. The food, of course, was outstanding, and they allowed us to bring in a custom cake and cookies so guests with allergies had dessert options too. The staff was kind, welcoming, and kept the energy up all day long. By the end of the party, everyone was up and dancing to our playlist, truly the best vibes! If youβre considering Pasta Villa for a special event - do it!! Let Shauna help you keep the energy high, your guests happy and full, and yes, sheβll even send you home with the leftovers.

While visiting the Irondequiot area I decided to give Guido's a try since it had decent reviews. Having never had a bad chicken parmigiana experience I figured I'd give it a try. I picked up the order and things smelled good in the restaurant. The Lentil Soup was quite tasty and the bread was soft, warm and good so I had great expectations for the main dish! I opened the container and saw very dark edges on the chicken! I further investigated and discovered the chicken was burned. I tried the middle and found no cheese anywhere and despite a great deal of red sauce this dish was dry, over cooked and tasteless other than the burned taste of the chicken! I'm never one to need the salt or pepper packets you get with plastic ware yet after using the entire packet this dish was tasteless and just plain nasty! I have no clue what they think chicken parmigiana is supposed to be but THAT WASN'T IT!!! Sadly this was a waste of $27 at the end of a very long travel day!

This place is a Rochester gem. Went here with my family from out of town to let them experience Rochesterβs Chicken French. We unfortunately had to wait over an hour for a table, so we just ordered some drinks at the bar. The food was good and came out quick. I think the chicken French was lacking flavor. It didnβt taste very lemony or have that distinctive sherry wine flavor, but everything else was wonderful. Iβd go back to try other items on their menu! The vibe inside is very old and it was super busy on a Monday night.
